It reads the cameras you already have. Nothing new goes on the walls, and no footage leaves the building except a clip of something worth telling you about.
When you open it, Windows shows a blue box saying “Windows protected your PC”. That appears for every program that is not yet widely downloaded, and ours is new.
Click More info, then Run anyway. If you would rather not, call us and we will install it with you on the phone.
Make a folder, for example C:\SKOPEIN, and move the file into it
before running it. It keeps its settings in the same folder, so it should not
live in Downloads where it may be tidied away.
The first time it runs it downloads a video component, about 80 MB. That happens once.
Closing the window does not stop it. SKOPEIN keeps watching and sits by the clock, at the bottom right of your screen. Open it again from there to see what it has done.
It only stops if somebody presses STOP or chooses Quit, and both ask first. If it ever stops on its own, you get an email a few minutes later.
After a power cut it comes back on its own. SKOPEIN sets that up the first time you open it · you do not have to do anything.
Right-click SKOPEIN and choose Run as administrator, just for the first launch. Open it normally after that.
Given administrator rights once, SKOPEIN arranges to start at boot, before anyone signs in. Without them it can only start after somebody signs in · and a computer sitting on the Windows login screen after a power cut is a computer that is not watching. This is the difference between a shop that is covered at 4am and one that is not.
